Starting May 1, 1985, the Corporation was converted into a new name as now known as the "PERLIS STATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION" following in line with its function for Progress in the Economic Sector of Perlis. This name change has been approved by the Perlis State Enactment No. 7 of 1985.
The Raub District Council was established by the state government of Pahang Darul Makmur on 04 June 1981 Volume 34/12, No. Gn 339, Town No.Pw 1236 which came into effect on July 01, 1981. It covers an area of 110.31 square kilometers. As such the overall expansion of the council area has increased to 977,207 square kilometers.
