The Cameron Highlands District Council was established through Pahang State Government Gathering No. 66 on March 01, 1982 with a total area of 55,0087 sq km and divided into two (2) categories: -

Taxable area - 31.812 km.p
Non taxable area - 23,725 km.p
For the extension of the new Cameron Highlands District Council area, the proposed area is 275.36 km.p (approximately 72,000 hectares) with a population of 35,075.
