The municipal administration in Bentong District started with the establishment of the Bentong Town Council on the 5th. May 1955 with the force of law and gazetted according to the Pahang State Government Gazette No. 147. Establishment of Bentong District Council on 1st. July 1981 is based on the Local Government Act (Act 171).
