Gerik Town Board was established in 1928, and its area was officially opened on February 17, 1928. Gerik Town Board is under the District Officer's Administrative Office as the Chairman of the Gerik Town Council, and an Assistant District Officer becomes Deputy Chairman. Under the direction of the State Government on July 1, 1975 Gerik Town Board was changed to the name of Gerik Local Government Management Board. On January 1, 1978 the State Government granted the autonomous power of L.P.K.T. Gerik with the aim of encouraging the Institute to make a collection of results.
