MDPP or its full name Pasir Puteh District Council is a State Statutory Body established on 1 January 1979 in line with the reorganization of local authorities throughout the State under Act 171 of 1976. The administrative area of the Council is the incorporation of the Local Authorities area which has been available before 1979 Pasir Puteh Town Board and Cherang Ruku Local Assembly with several new areas located outside of the two local authorities.
